      Standing design rules

      Building formStreet-facing volumes 40 ft deep; inward wings 30 ft wide. Blank party walls. Courtyards face the alley. Compact stairs parallel to the relevant side wall, with direct loggia access.

      HomesEntry vestibule and coats at every entrance. Bedrooms entered from a hall or recess. Courtyard-facing island kitchens connected to dining. Larger primary bedroom with ensuite; compact secondary rooms and halls. Four-bedroom homes require at least 1,700 sf.
